Bull Road - National Highways Closure - 4 weeks from 20 July 2026
Birling Parish Council
National Highwats has advised of planned works to Bull Road/Birling Road Bridge that goes over the M20, West Malling, Kent.
The bridge deck needs refurbishing as the joints and waterproofing are allowing water to seep through, putting the structure at risk of long-term damage.
To undertake these works safely, they will need to close the bridge 24/7 for four weeks, meaning that vehicles will not be able to pass over the bridge.
There will be a short diversion in place, via Ryarsh Road, Birling Road, The Street, Roughetts Road, A20 London Road, Ashton Way, A228 to rejoin Bull Road in both directions.
Closure information: . 8pm Monday 20 July to 6pm Friday 14 August Monday 20 July will be our only night working the rest of the works will be undertaken during the day Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 6pm. Our onsite team will be available to escort any pedestrians through the works 24/7.
Please note these works may generate some noise for which we apologise in advance. If we complete our works earlier, we will open the road over the bridge We would be grateful if you can share this information with your community, and if you have any questions about these works, please contact our Project Manager [email protected]
