In our recent parish survey residents overwhelming asked for the speed of vehicles in the parish to be reduced. The parish council has been working hard to do this with Kent County Council with plans for 20mph zones and speed limit reductions.

The first project to be successful is the application for a reduction of the speed limit on Birling Road from national speed limit (60 mph) to 40mph. In order for this to be implemented by KCC they require a public consultation to show that there are limited or no objections. The parish council is appealing to local residents to support the consultation to reduce the speed limit on Birling Road. If you are in support of reducing the speed that vehicles enter the parish via Birling Road please make your views known in the consultation process with KCC.
