BIRLING PARISH COUNCIL – WAR MEMORIAL PROJECT

October 2018

Dear Resident,

Birling Parish Council is very pleased to confirm that the war memorial refurbishment is almost complete.

The contractors, Burslem, will finish the works at the end of this month and the Parish Council would like to commemorate the re-opening of our very special landmark with an official ceremony.

Residents are invited to come along and join in the celebration with the official opening taking place on:

Sunday 4th November 2018

10.45am at the war memorial

Special guests will officially re-open the improved war memorial and the Parish Council hopes that you can join us.

Act of Remembrance on Remembrance Day Sunday 11th November at 10.50am

On Sunday 11 November 2018, Remembrance Day, a service will be held in our Church, which will start outside by the memorial at 10.50am where the names of those that made the ultimate sacrifice will be read out and, a wreath laid in their honour.

Snodland Road will be closed from the entrance to Birling from Snodland and to the right of the T junction at the intersection between Bull Road and Snodland Road for half an hour on Sunday 11 November 2018 from 10.45am to 11.15am whilst we pay our respects. (Ryarsh Road will not be affected).

Please join us on the 11th November to remember and say thank you to Birling residents that made the ultimate sacrifice.
