Via the Old Chalk New Downs Project with funds from the Heritage Fund, Medway Valley Countryside Partnership are currently writing the Securing the Landscape Toolkit. This toolkit will give local landowners a quick and easy resource in which to find out about local rural crime, how to potentially prevent crime and how to report it. The digital toolkit will be ready by the end of the calendar year but at the moment, as part of a public consultation element, we have drafted a brief questionnaire to assist us with gaining a little bit more information about the current public perception of crime and why people may not report crime. In addition, we'd love to highlight proper, practical and successful examples of how people have prevented crime so if you are willing to share any case studies, please let me know. As landowners/managers in the area, please can you complete this questionnaire but also, please can you circulate this to any relevant colleagues, contacts and landowners in the Medway Gap, OCNDs and Kent Downs areas? Ideally, we want people from the project area to complete it so the promotion will be targeted but, it will not matter if others complete it too. Here is the link to the online questionnaire: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=DaJTMjXH_kuotz5qs39fkCIx7G9WjWZKm-

X53djdsKxUOTNLT1pWOVdQWkpUTjZUNkNNUklaVldXSC4u People have till Sunday 8th Nov at 5pm to complete it. Please ask people to copy the link into Google Chrome As well as this, I will also be carrying out more specific interviews with various landowners and land managers so please let me know if you would be willing to discuss any issues specifically and/or know of anyone suitable who may be happy to take part. Many thanks for your time and assistance With regards Andrea Griffiths Senior Partnership Officer / Medway Valley Countryside Partnership 3 Lock Cottages, Lock Lane, Sandling, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 3AU Tel: 03000 414795 (Direct) or 03000 422997 (General Office) www.medwayvalley.org / www.kentcountryside.org.uk Part of the Kent Countryside and Coastal Management Service.
